Troy Tedesco memorial scholarship fund

 The Troy Tedesco Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2020 in memory of the beloved Troy Tedesco. On April 19th, 1986, Troy Tedesco was tragically killed in an automobile accident at the young age of 18. Troy was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH and was a member of the Mt. Healthy High School graduating class of 1985. Troy had a warm, caring personality and was active in sports. He left behind many friends and a wonderful family, who miss him dearly to this day. He made an impact on everyone who knew him and loved him. Similar to many kids in high school, Troy worked hard on his academics and was a solid B/C student. Troy was a hard worker and an all-around incredible person. Friends of Troy have established The Troy Tedesco Memorial Scholarship Fund to honor his memory and celebrate his life.

The Purpose of the Troy Tedesco Memorial Scholarship Fund will be to provide financial assistance and mentorship to persons having displayed solid academic credentials during their highschool career, demonstrated a good work ethic and a desire to continue their education at a trade school, university or college. 

Recipients of the Troy Tedesco Memorial Fund must meet the following requirements:

- Be an attendee of Mt. Healthy High School in Cincinnati, OH

- Be a graduating high school senior entering college in the fall of the year in which they graduate

- Show proven financial need as demonstrated by the filing of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

- Be enrolled or plan to enroll as a Full-Time student (defined as 12 or more credit hours per term).  

- Have displayed a strong academic performance at Mt. Healthy High School as defined by a minimum 2.5 grade point average on a scale of 4.0

- Fill out a Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation (CSF) application and submit it to the Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation, 324 E 4th St., 2nd Floor, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202 by its April 30 deadline 

- Include with the application a letter of recommendation from his/her guidance counselor 

The renewable scholarship amount awarded will be determined annually by the Troy Tedesco Memorial Scholarship Fund Advisory Committee and shall not be lower than $2000 per academic year. To maintain annual eligibility, the student must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or better. Each recipient will have a mentor available to offer academic and career guidance.

The recipients of the Troy Tedesco Memorial Scholarship Fund will be chosen by the Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation in cooperation with the Troy Tedesco Memorial Scholarship Fund Advisory Committee.
